Manage Google Groups Member Email Delivery Settings



As a member of a Google Group, you can control a number of settings, including how you'd like to receive messages from that Group. Google allows users to choose from:

  • no email

  • a single daily summary of all messages, delivered at an unpredictable time of day

  • a batch, or "digest", of up to 25 messages per day, delivered at an unpredictable time of day

  • an individual email for every message, delivered as soon as it was posted/approved

This document walks users through managing these per-Group member settings.

Steps

  1. Go to https://groups.google.com/a/geneseo.edu/forum/#!myforums in a web browser to see all the Google Groups you are a member of

    1. If you are signed in to multiple Google accounts, switch to your Geneseo Google account by clicking the user circle in the top right and selecting your Geneseo Google Account.

  2. Use the button to the left of the of the "Leave this group" button on the right side of the screen to select which email delivery option you'd like. The following options are currently available:

    • no email

    • a single daily summary of all messages, delivered at an unpredictable time of day

    • a batch, or "digest", of up to 25 messages per day, delivered at an unpredictable time of day

    • an individual email for every message, delivered as soon as it was posted/approved

  3. When you make a selection in that dropdown it will grey itself out and become unclickable until Google updates your email delivery setting for that Group.
