Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to the capability of machines to execute tasks typically linked to human intelligence, including learning, reasoning, and problem-solving.

AI is a broad field of study that includes computer science, statistics, data analytics, and more.

AI systems enhance their capabilities by analyzing vast datasets to uncover patterns and relationships. They employ algorithms — structured sets of rules that direct the AI's decision-making process.

If you are interested in the possibilities of generative AI, try Microsoft Copilot AI on your laptop or mobile device. Copilot, fueled by technologies like GPT-4 and DALL-E, can use the hidden patterns in previously seen text and images to generate new human-sounding text or images in response to your questions and prompts.

Google Gemini is available to Geneseo account holders. While it does have data protection (and it is better than using a personal account), it has strict query limits that affect its usefulness. CIT is not recommending the app at this time.
