Banner and KnightWeb Moving to SUNY ITEC Hosting

Geneseo’s Banner and KnightWeb services are currently hosted on local servers. In April 2023, CIT, with the approval of the cabinet, launched a project to migrate hosting to the SUNY Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC). We are currently in the testing phase and on target for final production migration in January 2024.

The final migration will begin after hours on Friday, January 12 and will continue through the end of day on Monday, January 15. All Banner and KnightWeb services will be unavailable during this period. We are working with campus offices to evaluate and mitigate the impact of this planned outage on scheduled events.

The migration team includes the Banner Steering Committee, which consists of representatives from all primary Banner administrative departments. They are participating in planning, testing, and final migration. Please contact Paul Jackson, Interim CIO, with any questions.
