Scanning at Geneseo – Getting Started
This article offers instructions for scanning through two distinct methods: the preferred method featuring the Pharos cloud software interface and the secondary method using the Toshiba interface. Both methods will create a PDF document.
Pharos Secure Scan
Preferred Scanning Method
Pharos allows you to send your scan to your SUNY Geneseo email, OneDrive or SharePoint Account
You must complete the one-time authentication before using the OneDrive or SharePoint options in Pharos Secure Scan.
Users must authenticate on a physical printer using their passcode, Geneseo ID card, or mobile device.
Select Scan Document and place the document in the automatic document feeder (ADF) or on the scanner glass.
The Scan Options screen appears, allowing users to choose their preferred scan options if the default settings are not ideal. Once you have selected your scan settings, press Done. Preferences are not saved.

Choose where to send your PDF file by selecting Email, OneDrive, or SharePoint.
Scanning to Email
Select Email
Change the "To" address to the desired email destination.
Change the subject and message if desired.
Press Scan Document
Scanning to OneDrive
Select OneDrive
Select the folder for your document.
You can also create a new folder in this menu.
Press Scan Document.
Scanning to SharePoint
Select SharePoint
Select the folder for your document.
You can also create a new folder in this menu.
Press Scan Document.
Toshiba MFD Scanning
Alternate Method
Toshiba allows you to send your scan to your SUNY Geneseo email
Users must authenticate on a physical printer using their passcode, Geneseo ID card, or mobile device.
Note: Maximum File Size for scanned documents to email is 25MB.
Once authenticated, you will be presented with the following screen.
Choose More Device Functions.
Press the Scan icon on the LCD screen, or press the access icon then press the Scan icon on the LCD screen.
Press the E-mail button on the touchscreen.
Press the number pad icon on the touchscreen.
Enter an email address on the touch screen, then press OK.
Press OK.
Insert the document into the auto feeder (text facing up) or on the flatbed (text facing down).
Press the Green start button on the keypad or the Green Scan button on the touchscreen.
The copier will now scan all pages in the auto feeder or prompt for additional pages if using the flatbed.
If using the flatbed press Job Finish if no more pages.
scanning additional pages, place them on the flatbed, and press Green Scan on the touch screen or the Green start button on the keypad.
When finished scanning additional pages press Job Finish on the touchscreen.
Press the Access key on the keypad and select Yes on the touch screen to log out or wait 45 seconds.
The scanned document should show up in your email inbox. The sender will be your SUNY Geneseo email address.
