Browsers Enable / Disable Pop-ups in Common

This article describes how to enable or disable pop-ups in common browsers. Some websites require pop-ups to experience their full functionality, including BizLibrary, Brightspace, and software installation apps.

Chrome

  • support.google.com

    • Follow the instructions under either Turn pop-ups on or off or Block or allow pop-ups from a specific site.

Edge

  • support.microsoft.com

    • If the instructions on the link above do not reflect what you see in your browser, you can instead try:

      1. Select the three dots ("...") in the upper-right corner of the browser

      2. From the menu that opens, select Settings

      3. From the left side of the new page that opens, select Cookies and site permissions. This will display on the right side of the page

      4. From the right side of the page, scroll down and select the ">" icon next to Pop-ups and redirects

      5. Here you can use the slider to choose to either allow or block everything by default. You can also allow or block individual sites by using the Add buttons next to each

FireFox

Safari

  • support.apple.com

    • These instructions are geared towards setting up blocking, but the same process will allow you to allow or block as you prefer.

  • For Safari on a mobile iOS device, see this article on support.apple.com .
