Software Updates to Research Systems and Applications

I’m writing to notify faculty of security concerns with their research systems that have Linux components or Linux as their operating system. The “RegreSSHion” bug is a critical vulnerability in the command line remote access service on Linux. This vulnerability impacts faculty-managed research systems on the campus network.

Faculty managing research systems should engage with their vendor partners and apply system updates as soon as possible to address this security issue. Please reach out to the CIT HelpDesk if you have any questions.
