Qualtrics is an advanced survey tool for academic research. It is useful for advanced assessments and surveys when complex logic, customizable question types, or detailed data analysis and reporting are required.

❓What is Qualtrics

Qualtrics is an advanced survey tool available on campus for academic research and assessments when Google Forms and Microsoft Forms don't meet survey needs. It's recommended to try Google Forms or Microsoft Forms first before using Qualtrics.

Qualtrics is available for use by all faculty and staff. Qualtrics will also be available to students for academic research with approval by a faculty member starting with the fall 2025 semester.

🔓 How to Access Qualtrics

You can access Qualtrics with your Geneseo account:

  1. Log in to myGeneseo

    1. Enter “Qualtrics” in the search bar to find the link.

      1. Add a site to your Important category

    2. Click the icon to sign in to the Qualtrics site

  2. Select Geneseo Single Sign-on (SSO)

  3. On first sign-on, users will be asked if they have a pre-existing account

    1. Select No, I do not have a preexisting account here

      1. Qualtrics will create an account using your Geneseo credentials

    2. Users will see a screen saying “Account Created”.

  4. After reading the terms of service listed, click the I accept button

  5. To begin, please leave the language and timezone settings as they are, then click the blue Get Started button.

  6. Step through the brief tutorial and click on the blue Finish button.

  7. You may also bookmark the link https://geneseo.qualtrics.com for direct access from your browser.

  • Future sign-ins will skip the account creation process, as users have already created their accounts and will only need to select the Geneseo Single Sign-on (SSO).

📚 Training and Support

Qualtrics includes a built-in Help menu with extensive training resources and documentation. To access them:

  1. Open Qualtrics and sign in

  2. Click the ? Help icon (upper right corner)

  3. From the dropdown, access:

    • Support Site for articles and user guides

    • Basecamp: A curated set of beginner-friendly video tutorials and courses

Accessibility

The Qualtrics' Check Survey Accessibility feature diagnoses your survey, indicates which questions are inaccessible, and gives other recommendations for increased accessibility to help you work towards WCAG 2.0 AA (and Section 508) compliant surveys.
