How to use Pharos Cloud and Pharos Secure Printer
You can choose to upload your jobs into a Pharos Cloud Web Portal via a web browser or install the Pharos Secure Printer application on your Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS devices to print on campus.
Printing to Pharos Cloud
To upload your documents to the Pharos Cloud Web Portal for printing:
Log in with your Geneseo email and password
Upload the documents you would like to print (see File Formats and Size Limits in the EXPAND HERE section below)
Follow the Authenticating and Release Your Print Job instructions below to retrieve your print job
NOTE: If you have a file type that you would like to print that is not in the list below, consider printing it first as a PDF on your computer and then sending it to the Pharos Cloud Web Portal.
Installing the Pharos Secure Printer
Pharos Secure Print is automatically installed on all college-owned computers.
If you accidentally delete the Pharos Secure Printer after it has been previously installed or if the printer is missing, please restart your computer and log in. After a few moments, the printer should recreate itself.
To install the Pharos Secure Printer on a personal computer, please see the Installing the Pharos Secure Printer article for instructions.
Printing to the Pharos Secure Printer
To use the Pharos Secure Printer installed on your computer to print your documents:
Open the document or webpage you would like to print
Select File, then Print from the upper left-hand corner of the window
If you need to print in color, single-sided, or other advanced functions, follow the instructions in the Printing F.A.Q. (Color Printing, Bypass Tray, Print Jobs that Won't Print) article
Follow the Authenticating and Release Your Print Job instructions below to retrieve your print job
NOTE: We suggest setting the Pharos Secure Printer as your default printer on your personal computer.
Authenticating and Releasing Your Print Jobs
All users must authenticate at the physical printer before any print jobs can be released and printed.
There are three ways to authenticate at the printer:
Tap your Geneseo ID card or Key Fob on the printer’s “ID Card” sticker
Enter your system-generated passcode by interacting with the LED screen at the printer
Configuring and using mobile release with an Android or iOS mobile device
Once you have authenticated at the printer, you can choose to Print All of your pending documents or you can choose Review Documents to selectively print individual documents or delete duplicate/unneeded documents.
