Voicemail: How to Listen to Messages



Geneseo users can listen to voicemail messages on their phone or have them delivered to their email inbox.

Steps

Listening to voicemail by phone

  1. Connect to the voicemail system

    1. From your office phone, dial 5999

      1. Enter your PIN followed by the pound (#) key.

    2. If you share a phone line, dial 5999

      1. Enter your ID (mailbox number) followed by the pound (#) key. 

      2. Enter your PIN followed by the pound (#) key.

    3. From another phone on campus, dial 5999 and press the pound (#) key. 

      1. At the sound of the first prompt, press the pound (#) key. 

      2. At the sound of the second prompt, press the pound (#) key again. 

      3. Enter your ID (mailbox number) followed by the pound (#) key. 

      4. Enter your PIN followed by the pound (#) key.

    4. From off campus, dial 585-245-5999.

      1.  At the sound of the prompt, press the pound (#) key. 

      2. Enter your ID (mailbox number) followed by the pound (#) key. 

      3. Enter your PIN followed by the pound (#) key.

  2. Press 5 to listen to new messages

    1. To delete a message, press 3

    2. To save a message, press 7

  3. Press 31 to listen to saved messages

Voicemail and your Geneseo email

By default, after you receive a voicemail message on your phone you will also receive an email notification.

  1. Click the link in the email to be redirected to the Cisco Personal Communications Assistant (PCA).

  2. Enter your Geneseo username and password. 

  3. Click on the Cisco Unity Inbox to view your message(s) and play them on your computer. Note: The first time you access the PCA, you may receive a notification to accept the website's security certificate. Click "Continue to this website" and click to permanently accept the certificate if requested.
