The CIT HelpDesk has equipment available for loan to current faculty, staff, and students that can be used for both personal and academic audio and video projects.

Loaning Overview

  • To sign out equipment, bring your Geneseo ID to the Fraser Hall CIT HelpDesk Location to borrow the equipment you need.
  • At this time reservations are only available for the 7-Day Loaner Laptops. All other equipment is first come, first served.

Reserving Long Term Loaner Laptops

In order to reserve a Long Term Loaner Laptop, please come to the HelpDesk and ask to borrow a Long Term Loaner Laptop. If one is not available at that time, you have the option to be put on the waiting list. When a loaner is returned, we call the next person on the waiting list and will hold any returned laptops until 6PM the following day before moving on to the next person. Before you can check out a Long Term Loaner Laptop, you will need to provide some proof of repair from a repair shop. If you don't have that, but still need a laptop, please stop by and ask to speak with a CIT professional staff member between 8:30AM and 4:00PM, Monday through Friday.

CIT HelpDesk Loans Late Return Procedure

Students and employees should be mindful that technology for loan at the CIT HelpDesk is a shared college resource. Items that have not been returned by their due date are considered late and abuse of computing resources. Patrons with late items will be contacted and asked to return the item by the closing of the next day. For items valued at over $500 that are not returned, students will be turned over to the Dean of Students for review, which may result in a code of conduct violation. For items that are not returned, students will be billed for the replacement cost. CIT will notify department heads if employees do not return items after being contacted for a late item. Departments will be recharged the cost of replacement for items not returned.
