myGeneseo – Geneseo's Campus Portal

This article provides information for faculty, staff, and students using myGeneseo. myGeneseo is your gateway to all Geneseo digital resources available to you as a student, staff, or faculty member.

Whether you're checking your Geneseo email, accessing Brightspace, viewing your class schedule or registration, checking grades and transcripts, managing your meal plan and campus card, or using the library — it's all here. Stay connected, stay organized, and get the most out of your Geneseo experience — all from one place.


Access myGeneseo

  1. Sign in to myGeneseo at https://my.geneseo.edu  using your standard Geneseo username and password. 

  2. Accounts are created automatically for incoming students and new employees. 

    1. See Claiming your Geneseo Account for details on setting up your new Geneseo account.

  3. If you're unable to sign in, you may want to try resetting your password.

    1. A link is provided on the sign-in page.

    2. If you are still experiencing issues with your account, please reach out to the CIT HelpDesk for assistance.

Customize Your Dashboard Layout

How to Customize Your Dashboard

  1. Hover over the Dashboard icon

  2. Select Customize from the dropdown menu.

  3. Select your preferred layout from the options provided.

  4. Drag and drop your desired services from the left into the layout.

  5. Click Save to apply your changes.

  6. When you go to your dashboard after saving, you will see your new customized layout.

Dashboard

Sites

Sites provides a view of available digital resources with features to help navigate and search for Geneseo websites.

Search

You can search for any site using keywords. The search function search against the title, description, and also "tags" that have been strategically placed on certain sites to help improve search results.

Categories

Each site is grouped into a category, like Academics, Campus Life, or Courses and Instruction.

Clicking a category filters the list to show only sites in that group. You can also collapse any category using the arrow on the right.

Special Categories:

  • All – Shows every site in one scrollable list. If you see a down arrow, scroll down to view more.

  • Important – Shows sites you've marked as important.

  • Recently Viewed – Lists your 10 most recently accessed sites, useful for quick access during repeated tasks.

 

 

Adding a site to Important Sites

  • Click the “i” icon on a site to see its description.

  • To mark a site as important, click the star in the top right corner.

  • To remove it from the Important category, click the star again to uncheck it.

Reorder Important Sites

  1. While viewing your Dashboard page, click on the important category.

  2. Find a site under the Important category that you wish to move. Once found, hover over the site and click the information icon.

  3. In the popover, click the Move button in the lower part of the box.

  4. The Important category will change to gray boxes with the sites names in them.

  5. Drag and drop to reorder the list and click the Save button at the top to keep the order of your sites.

  6. You will receive a green message box indicating you have successfully reordered the sites in your Important category.

  7. The Important category will revert to the standard view, displaying your sites in the order you arranged them.
