Classroom Technology Checks for 2025
Email to faculty from Laurie Fox on Aug 14, 2025
As we return to campus, I am writing to encourage you to visit your fall classrooms prior to the start of the semester to familiarize yourself with the technology installed. Several of our classrooms have been upgraded with new projectors and control panels. Visit the CIT website for more information about recent classroom technology upgrades.
Here is a checklist you can use in each room to ensure you are ready:
Find your adapter.
Connect your laptop to the projector. (Classroom Video Troubleshooting Guide)
Switch between mirrored and extended desktop for your display.
Play a video from YouTube to test sound. (Classroom Audio Troubleshooting Guide)
Select different input(s) on the control panel if you are using the document camera or other device.
If you are teaching hybrid or recording your classes, test the webcam to become familiar with its features. (Hybrid Classroom Guide)
Practice with the microphone in large classrooms.
Add the CIT HelpDesk phone number to your cell phone – it is the best way to quickly request assistance during classes.
If you have any questions about the technology in your classrooms, Ask CIT! Call 585-245-5588 or submit a request and we'll be happy to assist you.
Have a great semester!
