It’s important to keep your passwords safe. Passwords are your first line of defense against cybercriminals and data breaches.

  1. Your passwords should each be long, unique, and complex. Passwords should be at least 12 characters long and be a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.

  2. Each account should have its own unique password. Never reuse passwords and don’t just change one character or add a number to the end.

  3. Protect your passwords with additional authentication methods, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), wherever possible.

  4. Password managers make it easy to create, store, and recall passwords can be made easy with free, simple-to-use password manager tools.
