Tuesday, April 11 is Identity Management Day. Today is about highlighting the importance of securing our student, employee, and partner identities, but identity security is an important initiative year-round. There are many ways to stay safe and secure online, but practicing these identity security basics can make a huge difference:

• Never share or reuse passwords

• Create long, strong passwords

• Recognize and report phishing

• Keep your software up to date, both at home and at work

• Enable multi-factor authentication on all accounts; learn how by searching for your favorite apps here

• Use a password manager
