Excerpt

This page walks you through the steps needed to manage an Incomplete grade in Brightspace.

Tip

Don't forget to change the student's role back to "GEN - Student (Non-Cascading)" once the incomplete has been resolved. Otherwise, the student will retain access to the course indefinitely.

Steps

To manage the incomplete, all we need to do is change the student's enrollment in the course. To change a user's enrollment in the course:

  1. Select Roster from the blue course navigation bar.

  2. Select the checkbox to the left of the student for whom you are granting the incomplete and then select Enrollment.

  3. You'll be brought to a "Change Enrollments" page where you'll see only those users you select in the previous step. Use the drop-down menu, under the "New Role" column, to change the student's role to "GEN - Student Extended Access (Non-Cascading)" and then click the blue Save button.

Note

Please be advised that for courses using Discussions, a new end date will need to be applied to (or removed all together from) the Discussion Topic in order for the learner to be able to submit.
