Changing your username is a very complex process. Please familiarize yourself with the following process. The entire process will take at least a week and possibly longer.
Steps
Make sure your paperwork with the appropriate office is complete.
Request a new account for your new name. This step will require your supervisor's approval just like a normal account request. Please note in the description that this is for a name change.
CIT will ensure your new account has the same Active Directory memberships as your old account.
Once your new account is created, your account credentials will be shared with you and, if you are an employee, your TSP will be notified. Your TSP will set up a time to meet with you to help change all of your devices to use your new account. Students can complete these steps themselves or can visit the HelpDesk for assistance. Some of the things they will go over:
Setting up an email forward from your old account to the new one.
